I’ve always been into movies from a young age and regular cinema-goer, with my childhood (and university) bedroom walls adorned with film stills and posters, featuring my big-screen heroes. To be honest, this is still the case – just above my desk, rather than my bed!
Film reviews and article writing experience
Between 2011-2014, I was the regular film reviewer for Hackney Citizen. During this time I wrote over 60 film reviews, from mainstream blockbusters like The Hobbit and Avengers Assemble to more arthouse and indie films, such as Drive and The Tree of Life.
Around this time, I also wrote ad-hoc film articles for the well-respected film magazine, Little White Lies, including a Mad Max series retrospective, in the lead up to the release of Mad Max: Fury Road, and an article on the lasting impact of Goodfellas, for the 25th Anniversary of Scorsese’s classic gangster flick.
