Marketing experience
Before going freelance, I worked as Content Marketing Manager for the London-based digital marketing agency, Enchant. I was responsible for planning and implementing inbound marketing strategies and creating content for the agency, whilst doing the same for inbound marketing clients. This included writing blogs, ebooks, social posts and email copy, to generate traffic and nurture leads.
Whilst working for Enchant Agency, I wrote over 150 digital marketing blogs and created numerous downloadable marketing resources and guides.

Ecommerce and website development
One of the inbound marketing clients mentioned was a well-respected ecommerce consultancy and website development agency in Manchester, called Space 48.
I created regular SEO-friendly content, to drive website traffic and increase leads and opportunities for the businesses. This content writing consisted of blogging, optimising website pages and creating lead magnets and downloadable digital resources, thought-leadership articles, social media copywriting, video content and email marketing campaigns.
As an inbound marketing strategist and content writer for Space 48, I was responsible for regular business blog writing, which targeted key persona pain points. I wrote and published approximately 100 ecommerce blogs and a range of expert retail strategy guides to drive organic inbound marketing leads.

Film reviews and articles
As the regular film reviewer for Hackney Citizen, I wrote over 60 film reviews. I also created ad hoc movie articles for Little White Lies.
I’m a scriptwriter too and I’m currently working on several comedy screenplays, plus I have a children’s book project in progress.

Finance writing and communications
Whilst working for the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), I worked within the organisation’s Marcomms department to produce press releases, write technical content and add industry updates to the website.
I also created and edited content for the Scheme’s brand awareness campaign, which included writing articles about money-saving tips for different scenarios, like weddings, travelling, planning for a baby and buying a house. This required leveraging influencers to boost reach and engagement for blogs and articles.
I’m currently providing freelance copywriting services for a London-based FinTech marketing agency, which specialises in inbound marketing strategy and helping businesses to drive quality leads online.

Entertainment and popular culture
I was the Editor of an entertainment and popular culture website, called Squawk the Talk. The idea behind the website was to manage a group of writers and entertainment enthusiasts to create an online magazine, which published blogs, articles and features about film, TV, books, music and sports.
After creating the website, I liaised with the columnists and edited their content, whilst writing my own blogs and promoting the content on social media.

Print media, publishing and promotions
I spent 4 years at Express Newspapers (Northern & Shell), working across Daily Express, Sunday Express and OK! magazine, plus various weekend supplements. My main role was to promote telephony services, such as competitions, racing tips, football alerts and puzzle pages.
With promotions and competitions, I worked with PR agencies, prize-sourcing companies, service providers and in-house Editorial teams. I organised and wrote copy for competition slots and pages – even front page promotions! The key purpose was to drive revenue from Advertising and Editorial space, allocated to the Enterprise (Promotions) team, and boost print sales through compelling giveaways (like vehicles and white goods).
Competitions were also featured on the print titles’ websites, whilst I was responsible for launching the OK! and Daily Star mobile magazines.
